She is a Certified Complex Trauma Professional, which involved training in integrating Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems. Additionally, she received extensive training in Trauma Systems Therapy while providing in-home family therapy to families with a history of interpersonal trauma and collaborating directly with social services, schools, medical and mental health treatment providers, and other community partners. She was trained as a Trauma Informed Yoga Therapist (TIYT) which emphasizes strategies to use polyvagal theory to support emotion regulation for trauma survivors using yoga postures, breathing, and meditation.    Abby Derr-Moore is the owner of Renewed Balance Therapy. Abby is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Abby's private practice serves Northern Colorado and the Denver Metro area specializing in Complex Trauma, Dissociative Disorders, and Attachment. Abby has a particular focus working with international adoptees, Personality Disorders, forensic populations, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and couples & families struggling to connect. She uses EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, IFS, and mindfulness throughout much of her work with complex trauma survivors to help them find balance within and to heal throughout. Passionate about being able to provide opportunities for all, Abby also provides supervision, consultation, and trainings in the areas she specializes with the hopes of destigmatizing complex mental health issues and advocating for those who have been in hard places.
